The Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens is one of Baltimore’s hidden gems, located in Druid Hill Park. If you’re looking for the perfect afternoon activity for any season, a trip to the conservatory must be on your list.
Wanting a change of scenery from the busy streets of Baltimore City, I knew that an afternoon at the conservatory was the perfect thing to do.

Guests can make their way through the variety of houses in the conservatory that feature different climates and vegetation. You can even feed the koi fish in the pond located in the Tropical House!

I ventured into each room, taking the time to admire all of the plants and flowers. My visit ended in the Palm room that features towering trees that stretch to the top of the glass ceiling. For those few hours it seems as if you have been transported to somewhere outside of Baltimore City. It really is the perfect afternoon getaway.
